How it works

Turn item counts into a usable storage plan

01

Enter the item count

Use a total quantity from a build list, farm output, trade plan or storage project.

02

Choose the stack size

Select 64, 16 or 1, or enter a custom value for modded and server-specific items.

03

Prepare your storage

Use the exact stack, slot, chest and shulker counts to collect and organize materials.

Calculation

Minecraft stack formula

The calculator divides the total number of items by the selected stack size. The whole-number result is the number of complete stacks, while the remainder is the number of items in the final partial stack.

full stacks = floor(items ÷ stack size) leftovers = items mod stack size slots = ceil(items ÷ stack size)

FAQ

Common stack and storage questions

How many items are in one Minecraft stack?

Many Minecraft items stack to 64. Some stack to 16, while tools, armor and other non-stackable items use one inventory slot per item. The custom option supports other stack sizes.

How many stacks fit in a shulker box?

A shulker box has 27 slots, so it holds 27 full stacks of one stackable item. At 64 items per stack, that is 1,728 items.

How many stacks fit in a double chest?

A double chest has 54 slots. It holds 54 full stacks, equal to 3,456 items when each stack contains 64.

Why is the occupied slot count higher than the full stack count?

Any leftover item needs an additional slot. For example, 65 items at a stack size of 64 use one full stack and one partial stack, so they occupy two slots.
